As we all know, Apple had revolutionized the world of technology. The Iphone, Ipod and Ipad are two of the highest grossing products on the market. At the Apple Special Event on March 7th, every aspect of the Ipad was marketed. Siri, The App Store, and the Icloud were some of the topics discussed. There was also a demo of Apple TV (which I didn’t know existed until today). Apple has truly taken over our lives.
The event speakers went on and on about the software and technology involved with the Ipad feautures, which I’m assuming most of their customers don’t understand (I know I don’t). All that matters to customers is that their phone is in working condition. Apple feels like they always have to out do their last product and I’m not falling for it. I have an Ipod shuffle and an Iphone 4. Apple will not get any more money out of me (unless my phone breaks again, damn glass screen!) just because they created new features that weren’t on the last Iphone or Ipod. We have transitioned from using phones with necessary features such as call waiting and voicemail to unnecessary features. We don’t really need a phone that talks to us! Whatever happened to the days when all a phone had to do was make calls?
As Apple continues to brainwash us and almost single-handedly take our entire paychecks, we will continue to allow technology to interfere with our daily lives. We use FaceTime, Instagram, and Voxer to communicate with friends instead of catching up in person. The “social” phone has turned us “un-social”.
